So my family thinks I'm crazy. I thought it would be really neat to wear my Indian clothes to my college orientation, and I told my family this, but I don't think they took me seriously. Now that I'm wearing my favorite blue kurta and maroon pants, they are trying their best to make me change! I don't see why they are in such a tizzy about it. And I forgot to bring a change of clothes! teehee. And, well, I thought it would be really cool to take a picture of me wearing my Indian garb in the mountains here, so I can show my friends in Manali what some of the mountains look like in my home-state. Not only that, but I like my kurtas, and I think they are very pretty. What better way to introduce myself to complete strangers than bring some culture into the mix? I will be posting a picture soon. :) And I will tell you guys how orientation goes! I have a feeling I will meet some interesting people and make some new friends today. Good morning or afternoon! :)
Okay, here are some pictures from my road trip to Bluefield:
Picture of the sign that says, "East River Hall," my future home. :)
Yay, future dorm room!!! Right in there!! ----->
Going to the chapel and we're... going to get-
registered? That doesn't rhyme...
My sister keeps laughing at me in this picture. She keeps saying, "Are you sitting or are you standing? Trippyyyy..." As she covers half the picture. What...
I begged them to take a pit stop here, isn't the background awesome?
I tried to copy what I did in Manali when I was looking at the mountains. haha. :P Slightly awkward pose.
There's my adventure for today! I will most likely post about my first day in Manali tomorrow.
Last word for the night: "I feel like I should be talking in a British accent when I read italics. Don't use italics." - Megan Campbell
I won't. She has an awful British accent.
Good night! (Or good morning for you folks in India). :)
