Closer to Love

Early yesterday morning I got a call from my dad and my heart dropped. One of my best friends lost his mom and he had found out about it the night before. I had no idea what he was thinking or what he was going through, except that it was something incredibly painful. Sometimes it's hard to find words to describe how you're feeling in a particular moment. I wanted to say something that would make things better somehow, but it's hard to find words sometimes. And isn't it unreal how things happen just like that? There's no way of knowing if or when it will happen to someone close to you or happen directly to you. It's just the simple fact that it can. The good news is we're never alone when it does. We have a personal God who understands us even when no words can be found to describe what we're feeling. He is our comfort and our strength, and I pray my friend is encouraged tonight through everything he is dealing with right now. I have to believe that everything will work out for the better, and he has so many people who love him and his family. We're here for them and his support continually increases. I hope he never doubts that he has a God he can go to with everything, and friends he can go to, too. And... this song really fits in with some of the things going on right now so I felt that I should post it. <3 Night, guys.
